Real butterfly wings pair, whole wing, encased in resin using a proprietary process. Sterling silver earring wire, reversible! This one is very tricky to photograph, and I am afraid I have not done it justice. The colors change with the angle of the light, and from one butterfly to the next. The closest is the image of the whole butterfly shown for your interest. It's a little bit of mauve and pearly lavender and pearly gray.
